Margot’s Heirloom Portraits | Lafayette, Louisiana Child Heirloom Photography
Margot joined us for heirloom portraits at our pop-up event in Lafayette, Louisiana, and she did such a beautiful job. We captured so many wonderful images of her, and it truly only took a few minutes to create portraits her family will cherish for years to come.
One of the biggest concerns I hear from mothers before heirloom sessions is, “Will my child actually sit still long enough?”
The truth is, heirloom portraits are designed to be quick, simple, and stress-free for little ones. These sessions don’t require long periods of posing or waiting. In most cases, all it takes is just a few frames to capture those timeless expressions and sweet moments that make heirloom portraits so special.
Margot was a perfect example of this. In just a short amount of time, we captured a gallery full of beautiful portraits that truly reflect this stage of childhood. The softness, the curiosity, and those little expressions that change so quickly as children grow.
After their session, Margot’s family selected a heirloom album featuring all black-and-white portraits, which creates such a timeless and classic look. Black and white heirloom images have a way of removing distractions and focusing completely on the child—their features, their expressions, and the small details that make this season so special.
Along with their album, they also chose a beautiful 8x10 gold frame to display one of Margot’s portraits. Framed heirloom portraits are one of my favorite ways for families to enjoy these images every day. Instead of sitting on a phone or computer, they become part of your home and part of your family’s story.
That is truly the heart behind heirloom portraits. These images are meant to be printed, displayed, and passed down for generations.
Worried Your Child Won’t Sit Still for Heirloom Portraits?
This is one of the most common concerns parents have, but heirloom sessions are created with little ones in mind.
Children do not need to sit perfectly still for long periods of time. The beauty of heirloom photography is that it only takes a few quick moments to capture something meaningful. Many sessions are finished before children even realize they were having their picture taken.
Because of this, heirloom portraits are a wonderful option even for toddlers and younger children who may not love long photo sessions.
